Topics: news and viewsWorth reading:
- SOYO Updates Financial Guidance for Fiscal Year 2008 – I know the consumer is supposed to be dead, but low-end consumer electronics manufacturer SOYO reported a strong quarter, and projected $.11-$.12 in earnings for 2008, giving it a forward P/E of less than 7.
- Tronox Announces Global TiO2 Price Increases – Tronox (NYSE: TRX) was up big today on news of a pricing increase. Tronox trades at a low multiple to sales, so renewed pricing power could drive strong bottom line gains.
- Highway Holdings Receives OEM Order for Plastic Specialty Applicator – HIHO, a stock I used to trade, has bottomed for about 3 months after a long slide. I’ll wait to see the quarterly report.
- American Oriental Bioengineering Announces US$75 Million Share Repurchase Program – that’s almost a 10% buyback at today’s closing price
- New Frontier Media Reports Fiscal 2008 Fourth Quarter and Full Year Results – A terrible report — NOOF missed estimates, reported lower cash flow, and suspended its dividend. Investors dumped shares quicker than NOOF’s actors drop their clothes, sending the stock price down almost 30%. Not interested here, maybe at $3.
DISCLOSURE: Long SOYO.OB.
